Daily Ash FAQ

What is Daily Ash?

Daily Ash is a free daily Pokémon battle game. Everyone gets the same randomized team of six level 100 Pokémon each day. Your goal is to beat all eight versions of Ash, from Kanto to Journeys, using that one team.

Is Daily Ash like Wordle?

It has a shared daily challenge, a fresh start each day and a spoiler-free result to share. Here, you choose moves and switches in six-on-six Pokémon battles. Each square in your shared result represents one of Ash’s eight eras.

When does the next daily challenge unlock?

At 12:00 AM EST, using UTC−5 year-round. The countdown at the top shows the time remaining. The player team and daily clears reset together. A battle already in progress can finish for its original date.

How is my team chosen?

Six Pokémon are picked from the game’s curated battle-ready pool each day. Everyone gets the same team, moves and items, with a Mega option, a Z-Move option and a Gigantamax option. Choose your lead before each battle; refreshing, retrying or changing eras will not reroll your six.

Which versions of Ash do I battle?

Kanto, Johto, Hoenn and Battle Frontier, Sinnoh, Unova, Kalos, Alola, and Journeys. You can challenge them in any order. Each team has six Pokémon at level 100 and leads with Pikachu. The rosters use Ash’s own partners from those eras, with moves, abilities and held items adapted for this game.

When can Solgaleo join Ash’s team?

Only Ash’s Alola team (Gen 7) can get Solgaleo. Each day has a 25% chance of a guest appearance. If selected, Solgaleo randomly replaces one of Rowlet, Dusk Lycanroc, Incineroar, Melmetal or Naganadel, with an equal chance for each. Pikachu is never replaced, and the other seven eras never get Solgaleo.

The preview shows that day’s lineup, which stays fixed across retries and practice. Solgaleo carries Leftovers and uses Sunsteel Strike, Earthquake, Flare Blitz and Morning Sun.

Can my team have legendary or mythical Pokémon?

The player’s team cannot contain legendary or mythical Pokémon, except Silvally, Type: Null and Phione. Those three are allowed in the daily pool. This restriction applies to your team; Ash can still use his own special partners, including Alola’s occasional Solgaleo.

Can I play more than once a day?

Yes. Retry any loss with the same daily team until you clear that era. Losing or forfeiting a battle does not remove your other clears. Beat all eight eras to finish the day’s challenge. You can also practice against any era; practice wins and losses do not change your daily progress.

Does my team heal between battles?

Yes. Every battle starts with full HP and PP, no status conditions, and your original held items. Mega Evolution, Z-Moves and Dynamax are available again in each new battle. You never have to carry damage from one version of Ash into the next.

Which battle rules does Daily Ash use?

The battle engine uses custom Generation 8 rules with legacy moves and forms enabled. Each side can use one Mega Evolution, one Z-Move and one Dynamax or Gigantamax per battle, when its Pokémon support them. Dynamax lasts three turns, and Kalos Greninja has Battle Bond. There is no Terastallization.

The animated sprites, attack effects and gradually draining HP bars are inspired by Generation 5. The battle calculations still use Gen 8 mechanics.

Is it free? Do I need an account?

It’s free and needs no account. Battles, era clears and records are saved in this browser on this device. Clearing browser data removes that progress, and saves do not sync between devices.

Can I change or turn off the battle music?

Open Music at the top to pause playback or change the volume. The included piano arrangement of the Lance, Champion and Red battle theme loops during battles. You can also choose an audio file from your device.

Is Daily Ash an official Pokémon game or part of Daily Red?

No. Daily Ash is an independent fan project inspired by the daily battle idea. It is not affiliated with Daily Red, Nintendo, Creatures Inc., GAME FREAK or The Pokémon Company. Pokémon characters and artwork belong to their respective owners. Open Rules & credits below for the battle engine, sprite and music credits.
